Normandy Lgiht. Dixit Dominus.

Sun piercing the clouds on a Sunday afternoon. Always makes me remember the beautiful music of Dixit Dominus.

The Flight of the Bumblebee.

Mid August and Normandy is in full bloom. Bumblebees are swarming on the flowers in our garden.

1. First, let's check out the hollyhocks -

2. Nice!

3. Now the lavender, not bad!

4. Daisies! We'll give them a miss this time.

5. Ooh! Lavatera!

6. That's something!

7. Zooming in and landing!

8. Yes, we love it!

9. And more!

10. Now, home to sleep it off!

And bumblebees are coming in droves.

Granville. Storm Coming.

The beach swiftly emptied as the thunderstorm approached. It was dead calm — and then a violent squall lashed out.

The Chestnut / Le Châtaignier.

On the road near my house, this is a wonderful huge sweet chestnut tree that covers itself in golden bloom every year in mid July.

It is not the horse chestnut conkers tree that flowers in pink garlands in Spring, this one produces edible nuts covered in spiky shells.

The kind of field Theresa May would have run through as a naughty child.

A Percheron mare at the farm next door had a lovely black foal with white breast.
